Hail damage often goes unnoticed because it rarely causes immediate leaks. It appears as dark spots, "bruises," or missing granules on shingles. Because our team consists of former insurance adjusters, we provide a professional inspection that identifies structural damage that a standard contractor might miss.

Yes. Wind and hail damage are "latent" issues. The impact of hail weakens the shingle's waterproof layer, which leads to leaks months or even years later. In Southeast Wisconsin, you have a limited window to file a claim after a storm event. Filing early ensures your property is protected under your current policy coverage.

In Wisconsin, insurance companies typically cannot raise your individual premiums for a "catastrophe claim" caused by weather (Acts of Nature). Rates are generally adjusted based on the entire region or zip code after a major storm event, so not filing a claim when you have damage actually costs you more in the long run.

While it depends on your specific policy, most Wisconsin homeowners have one to two years from the date of the storm. However, we recommend an inspection immediately following a storm to document the "Date of Loss" accurately, which is critical for a successful claim approval.

Most roofing companies only understand labor and materials. Because we are former insurance adjusters with 40+ years of experience, we understand the "claims language." We use Xactimate (the same software used by insurance companies) to ensure your estimate is accurate, detailed, and leaves no room for the insurance company to underpay your claim.

Don't panic. Claims are often denied due to insufficient evidence or an inexperienced adjuster. As experts in storm restoration in Milwaukee, we can review your denial letter, provide supplemental photo evidence, and meet with your insurance carrier for a re-inspection to ensure all legitimate damage is accounted for.

No. This is a common myth. You have the legal right to choose any contractor you trust. The insurance company’s job is to pay the fair market price for the repairs. We work directly with your insurance scope to ensure the job is done with high-quality materials at no additional out-of-pocket cost to you beyond your deductible.

Most residential projects are completed in one to two days. Our local crews are trained in efficient "tear-offs" and installations, ensuring your home is dried-in and protected quickly. We also perform a rigorous magnetic nail sweep to keep your driveway and yard safe.

A manufacturer warranty covers defects in the shingles, but a workmanship warranty covers the installation. While many competitors offer 1 or 2 years, Duration Exteriors offers a 5-year workmanship warranty. We stand by our installs because we know they are built to last the Wisconsin winters.

We are locally owned and operated in Greenfield, WI. we serve the entire Southeast Wisconsin region, including Milwaukee, Waukesha, Brookfield, New Berlin, and West Allis. We are your local neighbors, not "storm chasers" from out of state.

Pricing & payments

The cost of a roof replacement in the Milwaukee area depends on the square footage, the pitch (steepness) of your roof, and the materials chosen. For a standard 2,000 sq. ft. home using high-quality asphalt shingles, homeowners can typically expect a range between $10,500 and $15,000. We provide free, detailed estimates using precise measurements so there are no surprises.

Yes. In the state of Wisconsin (under 2013 Wisconsin Act 24), it is illegal for a contractor to "waive," "absorb," or "rebate" an insurance deductible. Any contractor offering to "cover your deductible" is asking you to participate in insurance fraud. As ethical former adjusters, we help you understand your policy to ensure your only out-of-pocket cost is your legal deductible.

We believe in transparency and financial security for our clients. Typically, we do not require full payment upfront. Our standard process involves:

  • Initial Deposit: To secure materials and your spot on our production schedule.

  • Final Payment: Due only once the project is 100% complete and has passed our quality inspection.

If you have a mortgage, your insurance company will often include your lender’s name on the claim check. This is standard procedure. We can walk you through the "Mortgage Endorsement" process, which usually involves sending the check to your bank for a signature before work begins or after it is finished.

This is where our background as former insurance adjusters is a huge advantage. Insurance adjusters sometimes miss "line items" like code requirements, drip edge, or proper flashing. We submit "supplements"—detailed photo evidence and documentation—to your insurer to justify the correct market price for a high-quality roof, ensuring you aren't stuck with the bill for their oversight.

To make the process as easy as possible for our Southeast Wisconsin neighbors, we accept personal checks, cashier’s checks, and all major credit cards. We also provide a formal invoice and "Lien Waiver" upon final payment to protect your property and give you total peace of mind.

Scheduling & availability

We prioritize emergency inspections, especially after major wind or hail events in the Milwaukee area. Typically, we can have one of our specialists—who are former insurance adjusters—at your property within 24 to 48 hours to document damage and provide a free estimate.

Our team is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. For your convenience, we also offer weekend appointments by request. If you are experiencing an active leak or emergency storm damage, please call us immediately at 414-313-3275. If my voicemail is full, send me a text.

Most residential roofing projects in Southeast Wisconsin are completed in just one day. For larger or more complex roof designs, it may take two days. We focus on "one-day installs" to minimize disruption to your schedule and ensure your home isn't exposed to the elements overnight.

Yes. If a storm has caused a major leak or structural damage, we offer emergency tarping services to protect your home's interior while we wait for your insurance claim to be processed. Fast action is critical to preventing secondary mold or water damage.

In Wisconsin, we can install roofs year-round, provided the temperature is above freezing and there is no active snow or ice on the roof. We use specialized installation techniques for cold-weather shingle applications to ensure they seal correctly despite the Milwaukee winter.

While this varies by season, our typical lead time from contract signing to installation is 2 to 3 weeks. However, if you have an active leak, we provide priority scheduling to get your home protected as quickly as possible.

Roofing is weather-dependent. If our meteorology tools show a high probability of rain, we will proactively reschedule your start date. We never "open up" a roof if there is a risk of rain, and we stay in constant communication with you if a weather delay occurs.

You do not need to be home during the installation, as all work is performed on the exterior. We do ask that you move vehicles out of the driveway the night before and keep pets/children inside for safety during the process. We will provide updates via text or phone throughout the day.
